Wood Fired Cob Oven Workshop
April 1st & 2nd, 10AM-5PM, $126 ($220 for 2 people)
You can build! Explore the ancient art of building with clay, sand and straw. Learn the skills necessary to build a cob oven in your own backyard. Cob or earthen ovens are a fantastic way to cook rustic, authentic, wood fired pizzas. They can also be used to bake breads, cookies, stews, roasts, vegetables and more. The materials are non-toxic and taken from local and renewable resources. Oven building can be a muddy, fun, artistic, community building event.
Class registration includes a PIZZA PARTY with the completed oven, on the following weekend, 3:30pm, April 8th, 2017.
BEWARE pizza parties are contagious…and too much fun!!
Instruction by Carolyn Marie Hernandez and Jeska Summerfield of Wild Earth Builders.
What to bring:
We will be working outdoors, bring a hat and/or sunscreen. Wear something that can get dirty, and dress in layers. Unless you plan to mix cob with your bare feet (very popular!) wear some really old sneakers.
You will also want to bring water, a lunch, and nitrile gardening gloves.
