There’s nothing quite like the serenity of laying under a tree, gazing up at the branches as the breeze glides through. This bench started out as a single size, built so that a person could lounge or sleep under the twin elms that protect the home and yard. Over time, it grew into a bench built for a Queen, and her sweetheart to lounge in.
Many workshops were spent shaping and sculpting it’s curves and edges. While children are welcome at all cob projects, we made a special effort to invite the little ones out whenever we worked on this piece. Earthen benches are especially easy and forgiving projects for beginners and young cobbers!
